World's Best Player!

Virender Sehwag has been termed as the leading cricketer of the world in 2008 by Wisden. Wisden which is termed as cricket’s Bible has declared this in its 146th edition. In 2008, Sehwag smashed 319 off 304 balls against South Africa which is the fastest triple century ever. He was also responsible for the only Test win in Srilanka last year by scoring unbeaten 201 against the host team. The series otherwise turned out to be a nightmare for India. No other batsman has achieved more mental domination over the bowlers other than Sehwag in 2008.

Indian fans have one more reason to rejoice. Wisden’s Test XI has five Indian cricketers while no other country has more than two players. Also, MS Dhoni has been named as the team’s captain. The team also includes Sachin Tendulkar who has been performing consistently well for India, over the years. The other players from India who are in Wisden’s Test XI are Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh.
