Predict Tsunami!

Hello friends, this post is about a mathematical formula that can predict the arrival of tsunamis. Isn’t it interesting? This mathematical formula framed by the scientists will give warnings and also an idea about how destructive they are going to be. This research was stimulated by the 2004 tsunami that destructed many coastal regions in India, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

During that instance, the tsunami was caused by the earthquake in the middle of the ocean which resulted in six huge waves which destroyed the coastal regions. Though all the waves were huge, the third was the largest one and it caused most destruction. Its power was so huge that it even removed a train from its track while it was traveling along the coastline in Sri Lanka. It killed over thousand people. The scientists founded that the height of the waves depends up on the shape of the surface wave created in deep water which are responsible for the huge tsunami waves.

Sensational Match!!

Kings XI Punjab virtually ended all hopes for the Kolkata Knight Riders to get in to the semifinal in a wonderful match. This match can be termed as one of the closest thrillers so far in the Indian Premier League. Kings XI got a great start from Simon Katich and Sunny Sohal. Particularly, Simon Katich was at his best when he played those drives and cuts.

Even after losing Kumar Sangakkara early on, Kings XI got a good start from them. After these two got out, the job was handed over to Yuvraj Singh and Mahela Jayawardene to finish things off. The duo knew that they just have to look for singles and everything else will fall in place. They did exactly the same and they did not forget to punish the odd boundary balls. Though Yuvraj got out, Jayawardene made sure that he was till the end to get the victory for his team.

Exploring the Biggest Star!

Hello friends, this post is about the space missions that are going to explore the brightest star. Are you puzzled? A scientist team from European Space Agency which is backed by NASA has planned to send two missions to the biggest star in the universe which is the Sun.

Till now, the Sun has not been explored completely. But the two space mission will help the astronomers to unveil the secrets about the star. There are many unanswered questions like why the outer atmosphere of the Sun is hotter than its surface. The two space missions will travel more than seventy million miles to a hottest region where even the metals melt because of the temperature prevailing there. Though the two missions cannot be sent close to the Sun, it will orbit the Sun at around twenty million miles from its surface. To withstand the heat near the sun, the spacecraft will have a fifteen inch thick heat shield which will protect the two missions from the intense heat and radiation.

Just Read This!

Hello friends, it is amazing to tell you that there is yet another invention in the field of technology. But this time, it is a vibrating touch screen phone which can help the visually challenged people. This vibrating touch screen phone can for the Braille characters which will be very useful for the visually challenged people in experiencing the touch screen technology.

The scientists have tried to display the Braille dots on a touch screen phone. This is a great step ahead in the path of displaying the Braille characters on a mobile phone. This vibrating touch screen phone has piezoelectric material built into the touch screen. When an electric signal is applied to it this material vibrates. The Braille letters will be having a two-by-three matrix where each character is represented by different combinations of raised dots and absent dots. A software developed by the scientists is installed which will represent a raised dot and an absent dot as single pulse of vibration and longer vibration respectively.

Just Think To Control A Robot!

Friends, have you ever imagined a robot which can be steered by human thought? The Japan scientists have developed a robot which can be controlled by the human thought. Though it is unbelievable, the Honda Motor Company has made it possible by unveiling the latest version of Asimo which can be controlled by the human thoughts.

Asimo is the celebrity robot of Honda Motor Company that can walk, dance and run. It is now upgraded with a brain machine interface which responds to the human thoughts. This robot can perform four movements with the help of its arms, leg and tongue. It responds to the non-verbal instructions from the person controlling it. If the person just imagines of moving his right hand, the Asimo moves its right hand. Asimo can perform the movements correctly in 90.6% of cases which is already a record in the field of brain machine interface technology.

Perfect Penalty Kick!!

Hello friends, have you ever wondered how to score a perfect penalty kick every time you attempt and score a goal for your team? Yes, it is possible now because the scientists have discovered a formula to score a perfect penalty kick. By doing a research for hours on a football footage, scientists have framed a formula which is the only way of ensuring a goal. They made this possible by applying science to the playground.

If a player wants to score a penalty kick, he should approach the ball at an angle of twenty to thirty degrees and hit the ball at a minimum speed of 105kmph. While hitting the ball, he should aim one of the top corners of the goal post. Also the ball should pass exactly half a meter inside the crossbar. After a serious research on the footage from high definition cameras which were installed behind the nets, they have finally figured out the key elements that are important for a perfect penalty kick.
