Excellent Movie

It is really doubtful whether a movie of such epic proportions can ever be made again. Be it the make up, the locations, the costumes, the background and everything about the movie screamed of Grandeur. The accent used by Fletcher and Bush in Dasavatharam were remarkable. The two different American accents absolutely bowled me over. The 2nd half was breathtaking with not even a moment giving space for breathing. It was a fun film all along with doses of humor injected in the right places.

Screenplay rocked big time. The Tsunami sequence was excellent. The audience involvement is something that is going to work big time for this film. They were really into identifying the make-ups the number of Kamals at any given time and each individual introductions. It was entertainment all the way. In abstract about the movie, Dasavatharam is the best and most entertaining way any body can tell about chaos theory and butterfly effect on screen. On the whole, the movie is a very good entertainer with intellectual storyline and fantabulous acting from Kamal Hassan.

Count Out

Astrology is a beautiful and a divine science. People who assume it to be fictitious need to understand its concepts first. The growth of Vedic astrology ceased many centuries ago. Since this science is the outcome of pure mathematics, it is often difficult to understand by the general class of people.

Astrology is defined as the study of the positions and aspects of celestial bodies in the belief that they have an influence on the course of natural earthly occurrences and human affairs. Hence their inefficiency to cope up with the complexities of this science, make them regard this science as an orthodox feature in our modern scientific society. The origins of much of the astrological doctrine and method that would later develop in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East are found among the ancient Babylonians and their system of celestial omens. Although astrology has had no scientific standing for some time, it has been the subject of much research among astrologers since the beginning of the twentieth century.

Varanam Aayiram

Varanam Aayiram is a tribute from Gautam 'Vasudev' Menon to his dad. But whether it has reached all the dads and sons from all over is still a question. This movie is based on a real life incident. This film has very few exaggerations to be frank. The first half is light, peppy, colorful and mind-blowing. But the second half is quite average where the story plunges into the reality part of it. If you are heading in for romance and action then you would not find them.

People side the theatre told me there could have been a better climax, but I say this film doesn't have a climax nor does it need a climax. It is entirely the self realizations and flashback thoughts of Surya about the mammoth part that was played by his father in his life. The main plot is about how a father can affect his son's life and how sweet father-son relationships can possibly be.

Stock Market

America in those days was a land of crazes and stock market was the greatest craze of all. People became rich quickly by having shares in the Industrial combines. Many people become share holders in big companies not only for the dividends but also for speculations. People started buying shares in discriminately, without even knowing what it was.

Stock market becomes a big gambling game involving a major section of the population. Six months after Hoover became the President, stock market recorded the highest prices. Then suddenly the prices started to fall. People thought that the as usual prices will rise again. But it did not happen. In October 1929 the stock market crashed. There were many people selling but there was no one to buy. So the market crashed and many people were ruined, and became paupers overnight.

Mouna Raagam

Mani Ratnam has etched so many great pieces over the years. But this one is the masterstroke. Mouna Raagam is a perfect example for how a love story should be filmed. I believe that Mouna Raagam is Mani Ratnam’s best movie. It has brilliant songs scored by Maestro Ilayaraja.

Back ground music is out of the world kind. No wonder he is called the maestro. All the actors and the actresses are the perfect choices for the characters in the movie. Revathy has acted brilliantly in this movie. There are lot of scenes in this movie which can be highlighted as the best scenes. Though it is basically a love story, the way Mani Ratnam has narrated the story makes the movie different from the other movies. A must see movie of its kind.

Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, the name itself brings a feeling of aggression and inspiration to the mind. He is the cleanest striker of the ball in the world and the best in the Off-side business. This reflects in his average which is above 40 in both the formats of the game which never came down during 12 long years of his career. Sourav Ganguly is regarded as one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket team in both Tests and One Day Internationals.

Starting from his controversial One day international debut in 1992, century knocked test debut in 1996, becoming the Indian Team Captain, to his great comeback, his career is no less than an Indian Masala Movie. Ganguly is a person with positive attitude, a real fighter in all sense, a born leader and truly a gem of a person.

Global Positioning System

The recent device used for identifying the position and movement of an object on the earth surface is called “Global positioning system”. It looks like mobile phone which captures signals from multiple satellites and provides information on the location of a place, giving details about the latitudes and longitudes. This device is highly useful for defence purpose to find out the location of enemy camps, missing soldiers, air crafts etc. thanks to scientists and technologists for inventing these wonderful digital systems of Remote sensing GIS and GPS for providing us a lot of information in our National building task.

Over the last three decades earth observation has become increasingly sophisticated. With a large number of countries including those in the developing world recently launching their own remote sensing satellites, such as India, Brazil, China and Pakistan. Remote sensing data has proved invaluable in a wide range of research fields, from making maps of the earth surface, to monitoring renewable and non-renewable natural resources, to urban planning.
